The Best Way to Ask Someone Out

February 12, 2018

Trying to figure out how to ask them out without seeming cheesy or desperate? Don’t end the conversation with, “So, um, do you want to go out with me sometime?” That only adds potential awkwardness and pressure to the situation.

Instead, tweak your request into a statement, like: “So, I’d love to take you out sometime.” Or “Well this was fun, I’d love to chat more sometime.”

You’ll get just as much information out of a statement as you would with a question. You’ll know if they are interested after making your statement by how eager they seem about hanging out again. And just as importantly, if they turn you down, it won’t feel as dramatic and soul-crushing.
